Police are now actively searching for a man wanted in connection with the theft of 16 weapons from the Lincoln Stoddard United States Army Reserve Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, following a break-in over the weekend.
According to Worcester City Manager Edward Augustus, Jr., the break-in and thefts occurred between 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 a.m. on Sunday.
“There is no indication that the crime is linked to any specific threat, according to the FBI. As a precaution, WPD has additional police presence in several key locations throughout the community, until further notice,” Augustus said.
Authorities are now making every effort “to recover [the] weapons immediately.”
Sources say that the escape vehicle used was a black BMW hatchback with sports rims. On the other hand, the suspect is described as a man estimated to be about 5’7″ to 5’10” tall. Descriptions of the missing weapons have also been entered into the National Crime Information Center to hopefully speed up the case’s resolution.
