Mizzou protesters labeled “crybullies” — a creepy hybrid of victim and victor

The ridiculously obnoxious Mizzou protesters who want “free” college, and pretty much “free” everything, have earned themselves an amusing nickname: “Cry-bullies.” Conjured by blogger Julie Burchill, “cry-bullies” are by definition “a hideous hybrid of victim and victor, weeper and walloper.” [1]

Designed by Libertarian political cartoonist Ben Garrison, the below illustration depicts what “social justice warriors” actually look like when parading around and complaining about made-up instances of racism.

“I like the fact that college students are angry enough to revolt against the massive debt being piled on their backs just because they want to get a college degree and a good job,” says Garrison.[2]

“They should be protesting because the expenses involved have gotten ridiculous. Then, if they do graduate, a great many of them can’t find employment. Too many are forced to remain living with their parents without a chance at the American Dream, which has now become just that — a dream,” he adds.

“Unfortunately, too many of these young people are also upset about ridiculous things. They are part of a hypersensitive, hyper-politically correct group known as ‘Social Justice Warriors.'”

Daniel Greenfield, a writer for FrontPage Mag, expands on Burchill’s definition of crybullying in his article “Crymobs, crybullying and the Left’s whiny war on speech” in which he describes the Left as a “victimhood cult” that feeds off pain and suffering.[3]

Crybullies exploit “suffering when it can and creates it where it can’t. Its social media has ushered in the Warholian era of victimhood where everyone can be a famously oversharing victim for 15 trending minutes,” writes Greenfield.

“Forget about meritocracy. This is the victimocracy,” he adds.

“The victimocracy’s foot soldier is the crybully. The crybully is the abuser who pretends to be a victim. His arguments are his feelings. He comes armored in identity politics entitlement and is always yelling about social justice or crying social justice tears. If you don’t fight back, the crybully bullies you. If you fight back, the crybully cries and demands a safe space because you made him feel unsafe.

“Lions form a pride, crows gather into a murder and crybullies cringe into a crymob. The crymob demands a safe space because free speech and dissent makes its crybullies feel very unsafe,” Greenfield says.
