Some people have a party and cake to celebrate momentous occasions such as a birthday or anniversary. However, when terrorist group Hamas recently marked 28 years since its founding, students at a top Palestinian university had an entirely different way of celebrating: staging a sickening mock kidnapping and execution of someone dressed up as an Israeli soldier.
Birzeit University, which is in the West Bank near Ramallah, is considered one of the Palestinian Authority’s top universities. The school has made it a policy not to allow any Israeli Jews on its campus.
At the university, masked students holding automatic weapons forced a man posing as an “Israeli soldier” to kneel down in front of them as they stood in a row and pretended to execute him. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Arabic media spokesman posted photos of the disturbing scene on his Twitter account. The images were eerily similar to the execution videos that have been released over the past few years by their fellow ISIS-related terrorists.
On their anniversary, Hamas released a statement in which they vowed to continue their fight against Israel until they emerge victorious.
