Yet another Hollywood scandal has emerged, this time involving a television co-host who allegedly raped his younger sister when the two were very young children.
According to Miranda Pacchiana, former Mythbusters co-host Adam Savage repeatedly coerced her into sexual activity when she was just seven years old, and this continued until she was 10. He would have been just a few years older at the time, which, if true, makes the case even more disturbing.
Pacchiana spoke to the New York Post about these allegations, which she says took place at her family home in Sleepy Hollow, New York. This would seem to reflect the pedophilia culture that Hollywood is notorious for these days.
“Beginning in or about 1976 and continuing until approximately 1979, Adam Savage would repeatedly rape Miranda Pacchiana and force oral sex upon her, and forced Miranda to perform oral sex on him, along with other forms of sexual abuse,” read the legal papers filed in Westchester.
Now 51 years old, Pacchiana claims that her brother nicknamed himself the “raping blob,” and tried to pass off his abusive behavior as some kind of game between the two. She is now seeking restitution under the New York Child Victims Act, which recently opened up to allow victims of sexual abuse from many moons ago to file lawsuits, despite their exceeding the statute of limitations.
“The prolific abuse by Mr. Savage as alleged in the Complaint has caused irreparable damage to my client that she will live with for the rest of her life,” said Pacchiana’s attorney in a statement. “Today is the first step in the direction of healing and justice.”
Those familiar with him may recall that Savage began his career on Mythbusters back in 2003, when he and co-host Jamie Hyneman started testing out various urban legends to see if they hold any weight. Many found the program both hilarious and informative.
Savage eventually left Mythbusters back in 2016 after 14 successful seasons, and now hosts a popular YouTube channel where he constructs props and costumes from television shows and movies.
Pacchiana, on the other hand, has a more nondescript career as a social worker in Connecticut. She says that she has tried to talk to the rest of her family about the allegations, but has not made any headway as she had hoped.
“When I first disclosed to my family that my brother had abused me as a child, I thought my whole world would change,” she wrote on her blog. “I assumed my family members would share my desire to examine what had gone wrong in our home and pursue a path toward healing together. I was sadly mistaken.”
One Breitbart News commenter has his own theory as to why Pacchiana’s family is thus far not taking the allegations seriously. Going by the name of “Steve,” this commenter wrote:
“I find it interesting that [Savage] is two years older than [Pacchiana], so when she was 7 he was 9. That behavior doesn’t just happen, there’s most likely someone else in the family that started the sexual abuse.”
This same commenter added that his wife works with the “children’s division” of the state where they live and that “in almost all of the cases of sibling abuse, it starts with a parent or guardian. That might be why the family wasn’t excited to hear about the lawsuit.”
Others are critical of the New York Child Victims Act entirely because it overrides the statute of limitations in such a way as to implicate potentially innocent people for crimes they may not have actually committed.
“… how are you going to charge a minor with sexually abusing another minor four decades ago?” another commenter asked.
