Spain is set to decriminalize bestiality after the country’s Congress of Deputies, which is tantamount to the U.S. House of Representatives, approved a proposed amendment to the Spanish Penal Code.
Russia Today initially reported that the amendment, which includes an animal welfare bill, was introduced by Social Rights Minister Ione Belarra. She has promoted the amendment as a way to protect the well-being of animals regardless if they are pets or wild animals.
The amendment sought to revise provisions in the Spanish Penal Code, which has treated bestiality as a form of abuse since 2015. Under the current law, causing “injuries that seriously impair” the health of animals or subjecting them to sexual exploitation would merit a prison term of three months to one year.
If approved, the previous statute would be deleted and replaced with a new one titled “crimes against animals.” Under the new law, only animal owners who cause injury to an animal requiring “veterinary treatment to restore its health … by any means or procedure, including acts of a sexual nature” would be subjected to punishment. This means having sexual relations with an animal will be perfectly legal so long as it doesn’t cause serious harm to the animal.
Aside from potentially decriminalizing bestiality, the new bill would penalize Spaniards who kill rats in their homes with jail time and fines of up to €50,000 ($53,000). It would also ban the sale of puppies and kittens in pet stores, and would also ban certain animals to be kept as pets – including spiders, turtles, lizards, snakes and chameleons.
The Congress of Deputies approved the proposed amendment. As of writing, it is now awaiting final approval in the Spanish Senate.
Rick Wiles, TruNews host and founder, blasted Spanish progressives such as Belarra for deliberately destroying Western civilization with their woke political ideologies.
“The [Spanish] lower louse passed a supposedly animal rights and welfare bill, but inside that bill is a provision that actually decriminalizes bestiality. It says that any sexual act between a human and an animal that injures the animal is illegal,” he said, pointing out that the “sexual” act remains legal as long as it does not hurt the animal.
“That’s a slick, sly and sneaky way for socialists to legalize bestiality in Spain.”
TruNews co-host Raymond “Doc” Burkhart agreed, citing a tweet from Poland’s Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro.
The Polish official spoke against leftism, which he called the “plague of the 21st century,” in a tweet.
“The Spaniards allowed children to change their sex on demand. Now they legalize bestiality and the use of a rat trap is punishable by imprisonment. The leftist virus is also circulating with us,” Ziobro tweeted. The Polish justice minister tagged Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, saying the mayor of the Polish capital was infected by it.
Wiles added that the Spanish socialists are leading European Union nations into wickedness and bringing about the destruction of society with their gender-changing laws and mutilation of children’s bodies and now legalizing sexual relationships with animals. “I don’t know how sane, normal people could put a stop to this. Because eventually, our entire civilization will collapse,” he said.
