Deanna Williams recounted her multiple battles against people who took advantage of her sexually and financially on the April 25 episode of the Brighteon.TV program “Right Now with Ann Vandersteel.”
Vandersteel introduced her guest as a woman of courage who fought a sexual harassment case against a sports personality. The issues began when New York Mets pitcher Johan Santana was named as the perpetrator of a sexual assault against Williams at a Fort Myers, Florida golf course back in October 2009. However, Santana received a legal victory when a Florida judge dismissed a civil suit against him in November 2010. Enter 53-year-old West Palm Beach licensed attorney Michael Dolce, who turned out to be problematic, incompetent and corrupt. The same presiding judge removed Dolce during the case and later disbarred him. While Dolce managed to get a confession from the actual rapist, he went missing several times while her case was pending.
Upon Dolce’s removal, high-profile attorney Gloria Allred stepped in to help Williams. But when Dolce heard news of Allred settling Williams’ case, he returned with a view of suing the victim for a fee. Williams’ time with Allred also drained her finances.
“I received small amounts, but I ended up having to pay for security, moving and doing the things that I had to do to be OK. From the crimes that I have experienced, I ended up very much upside down. I’ve lost everything I own.”
Williams was vindicated when news of Dolce being arrested for possession of child pornography broke out. A press release by the Department of Justice said agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at his apartment. They found Dolce actively downloading child porn using peer-to-peer software and seized nearly 2,000 images and videos from his devices.
“He specializes in that line of prosecution, representing people who are also victims of sexual abuse,” Vandersteel remarked. “He himself is troubled, and the fact that he was caught in bed at 2:00 a.m. by the FBI on a torrent network – which is allowing him to get into the dark web and look at child porn – is very disturbing because he’s the guy supposed to be representing victims of that kind of stuff,” the host pointed out.
Williams commented: “It’s hard to believe that it’s been going on for as long as it has. But I am so thankful that there has been some movement in there because there has been an arrest. The innocent can be protected from some of the ongoing crimes, and the arrest of Dolce is actually the second sex crimes arrest.”
In the course of her legal battles, she asked help from Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno. However, he pursued a two-month relationship with her that resulted in a pregnancy. The sheriff demanded that she get an abortion, but Williams carried the baby to term.
Williams eventually filed a paternity suit against Marceno seeking child support and sole custody, but she unfortunately suffered a stillbirth. Since the pregnancy ended, the case has remained open as “there is no way to force Marceno to provide DNA and settle paternity questions.”
“I really believe that they saw me as someone that they could take advantage of because I was vulnerable and afraid. There were frightening things that had happened to me and I was very unlikely to come forward,” Williams concluded.
